U.S. Chargé d'Affaires: We are pleased that economic cooperation with Azerbaijan is growing every day
Baku, February 28, AZERTAC
On February 27, the first branch of the renowned U.S. restaurant chain “Popeyes” officially opened in Azerbaijan.
The inaugural location began operations at Crescent Mall, expecting to employ up to 50 local staff members.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Amy Carlon, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan, said that since the meeting between President Donald Trump and President Ilham Aliyev last August, both countries have been making significant efforts to expand cooperation.
"We are very pleased that economic cooperation between the US and Azerbaijan is growing every day," she added.
The “Popeyes Azerbaijan” aims launching 20 restaurants nationwide, with the overall project expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs.
Popeyes started its journey in the vibrant streets of New Orleans back in 1972 with a single restaurant and a bold vision to bring the soulful taste and welcoming spirit of Louisiana to people everywhere.
