11TH CONGRESS OF EURASIAN UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATION WARPPED UP IN ASTANA
Astana, March 11 (AzerTac). The 11th Congress of the Eurasian University Association held in the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana wrapped up.
The heads of 98 universities-members of the structure were present at the event.
Rector of the Baku State University Abel Maharramov, pro-rector Vusat Afandiyev, rector of the Lankaran State University, professor Asaf Iskandarov represented Azerbaijan in the event.
Addressing the event rector of the Moscow State University after M. Lomonosov Victor Sadovnichy told about the success and problems of the education in the Eurasian area.
Greeting the participants, Kazakhstan’s president Nursultan Nazarbayev set forth before the representatives of the scientific society of the Eurasian area his own vision of the process being held in the world, having noted the necessity of changing conceptual approaches to the regulation of the global economic system.
In his speech, rector of the BSU Abel Maharramov updated the participants on the history of the Baku State University and reforms implemented in the country in the fields of education and innovation.
During the congress, Lankaran State University was elected as a member of the Eurasian Association of Universities.
The Eurasian University Association created in 1992 comprises 98 universities in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
