COVID-19 in Ukraine: 777 dead, 26,514 cases, 549 new infections

The number of officially confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine has reached 26,514 as of 9 a.m. on June 6 according to the Center for Public Health at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the National Security and Defense Council, Kyiv Post reports.
In total, 777 people have died from the disease in Ukraine and 11,812 patients have recovered.
In the past 24 hours, Ukraine has identified 549 new COVID-19 cases, 15 people have died, and 440 have recovered.
For the third day in a row, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is growing in Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting on the coronavirus pandemic on June 5 chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The government said that if the trend continues, the easing of quarantine measures could worsen the epidemiological situation in the country.
Since June 4, at least 16,793 COVID-19 tests have been conducted, including 11,142 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and 5,651 antibody tests (IFA).
A total of at least 403,551 PCR tests have been carried out since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the health ministry says.
On June 1, Ukraine entered the third stage of easing COVID-19 restrictions under the “adaptive quarantine” plan.
According to this plan, the government will ease restrictions every 10 days for oblasts that meet certain criteria up until June 22, the current expiration date for the quarantine. Those criteria include a steady decline in new confirmed coronavirus cases, a growing number of recovered patients and bed occupancy rates in hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.
On June 5, Ukraine is scheduled to allow the reopening of indoor restaurants and the relaunch of domestic air transportation. On June 15, the country plans to restart international air transportation.
