A new episode of the program "Azerbaijan and the World" has been released on the AZERTAC website. Host Tamilla Mammadova spoke with Stefano Braghiroli, an Italian political scientist and director of the European Studies Program, about Azerbaijan's role in ensuring European energy security and developing transport links.
Highlighting Azerbaijan's importance in the European Union's strategy to diversify energy sources, the expert emphasized the country's significant contribution to reducing dependence on traditional suppliers. He noted that projects such as TANAP and TAP play a significant role in the supply of natural gas, which is considered a transition resource within the framework of the European Green Deal.
The program's interviewee also noted that, given the changing geopolitical situation, Azerbaijan's importance as a logistics hub is growing. He stated that the country is becoming a reliable link between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Europe, facilitating the development of alternative transportation routes.
In conclusion, the political scientist emphasized that Azerbaijan's role will strengthen in the context of the European Union's desire for strategic autonomy and diversification of economic and energy ties.
