All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress holds annual meeting on results of 2013
Moscow, December 26 (AZERTAC). All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress has held an annual meeting to sum up the year 2013.
The meeting discussed activities, future plans and projects of the organization.
Executive Director of the Congress Ilgar Hajiyev spoke of improvement work concerning “Azerbaijani Congress” newspaper and website, and called on heads of regional branches to use more actively information resources of the Congress. He gave information about new project of the Congress - Legal Assistance Center.
Deputy Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Gudsi Osmanov said “not depending on where they live all Azerbaijanis feel their historical native land, strong Azerbaijani state and President on their back”.
He added that “reliable place for Azerbaijanis living in Russia is the country`s embassy”.
Osmanov reminded national leader Heydar Aliyev`s advice for Azerbaijanis living abroad: “A unity for national interests is a guarantee to be powerful”. The diplomat said the national leader always showed care and attention to his compatriots living abroad. The deputy ambassador pointed out that today this policy was effectively continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
The diplomat stressed that activities of the Congress should be improved and strengthened. “In this process, the embassy`s opportunities and ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu`s great influence are used.”
Executive Director of the Congress Ilgar Hajiyev introduced new head of St. Petersburg regional representation Elmar Shahrzayev to meeting participants.
Chairman of Legal Assistance Center Vladislav Shvetsov and his deputy Azer Aliyev briefed the event participants on activities of the center. They said the center will render all legal assistance to Azerbaijanis in Russia.
Some members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, who took active part in social life of Russia, were awarded with the Congress`s medals and honorable diplomas.
Representatives of Azerbaijani media in Russia were also awarded by the Congress.
