AMOR representatives attend 4th International Youth Camp in Russia`s Kaluga region
Moscow, July 27 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijani delegation comprising of the member of board of directors of Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR) Emin Hajiyev, 10 activists of the Organization in Kaluga region and representatives of Azerbaijani youth in Baku participated in the 4th International Youth Camp “Dialogue” at the cultural-educational touristic centre “Ethnomir” in Russia`s Kaluga region.
The “Dialogue” is a part of Plan of Actions of the framework program for 2012 on cooperation in youth policy, 2009-2012, of the Russian Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy and Directorate on Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe.
The Camp brought together around 300 participants from Council of Europe member states and beyond including Commonwealth of Independent States countries, different regions of Russia who are actively involved in the implementation of international and interethnic youth projects. Foreign students from Russian universities, representatives of the state bodies, Council of Europe, European Youth Forum, representatives of world religious confessions and NGOs took part in this event.
The Youth Camp “Dialogue” aims at offering a space to young people to continue the implementation of the “Kazan Action Plan” and thus to promote intercultural dialogue and interreligious cooperation among young people across ethnic, religious, linguistic and national dividing lines.
Emin Hajiyev said: “Azerbaijani youth has established contacts with peers from different countries and discussed prospects of cooperation in various projects. The representatives of Azerbaijani youth told of rapidly developing country, its rich culture, art and traditions. They also participated in debates on intercultural dialogue, freedom of speech, religious ethics, role of youth in dialogue of cultures and civilizations.”
AMOR representatives introduced Azerbaijani national culture, traditional cuisine, national music and dances to the camp participants. “Azerbaijani flag, geographic map, national souvenirs, photos and pictures of the Land of Fire were hanged out in our stand,” said Hajiyev.
On the upcoming tasks, Hajiyev underlined AMOR representatives will participate in the Forum of the heads of Azerbaijani Diaspora Organizations on the topic “Integration to society of Azerbaijanis living abroad: realities and prospects.” The Forum organized by the State Committee on Work with Azerbaijani Diaspora will take place in Turkish city of Bodrum, from August 4-8.
