“ASIA HOLIDAY” TO BE HELD IN BAKU

A traditional music festival “Asia Holiday” is to be held in Baku between September 10 and 12 through the organizational support of the Initiative center of modern music CoHoP. Musicians from Iran, India, Kirgistan, Azerbaijan and other Asian countries are to take part in it.

The aim of the first festival held in Azerbaijan is deeper and wide propaganda of Asian peoples’ music, its popularization in the world. Our republic will be represented by a mugam Azeri under leadership of Elshan Mansurov, a group of zurna (music instrument) players and ashug Rafiq Huseynov.

The solemn opening ceremony will be held on September 10 in the Khazar University. The concerts will be held in German-Azerbaijani cultural center Kapelhaus.

The festival will round on September 12 by performance of participating countries musicians in he State Song Theatre after Rashid Beybutov.
