Azerbaijan participates in 72nd Meeting of UN Tourism Commission for Europe

A delegation from Azerbaijan, comprising representatives of the State Tourism Agency, attended the 72nd Meeting of the Commission for Europe of UN Tourism in Malta.
During the event, the discussions focused on declaring the year 2027 as the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism.
The meeting heard a report on “Global Vision and Regional Approach” delivered by Shaikha Al Nuwais, UN Tourism Secretary-General, while also adopting the decision to hold the 73rd meeting in Montenegro in 2027.
The event also featured a high-level conference themed “Driving Tourism Towards the Future We Want: A Dialogue on Policies to Balance Growth, People and Planet,” exploring the role of state policies in the sustainable development of tourism, the welfare of local communities, and preserving ecological balance.
