Azerbaijan sends note to Lithuania
Baku, October 13 (AZERTAC). “Any visits to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan without prior coordination with Baku are illegal,” said spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has sent a note to Lithuania regarding the participation of a Lithuanian music band in a festival held by Armenian separatists in the occupied region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
He said the Azerbaijani Embassy in Lithuania had investigated this issue and held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Culture of to hand a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The issue was also discussed during a meeting of the newly appointed Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Abdullayev noted the Azerbaijani Embassy in Poland was investigating whether the Polish musicians also participated in the festival.
