Baku. December 11, AZERTAC
A movie, “Learning how to swim”, narrating on the Syrian refugees has been awarded “Migros Youth Award” at the International Izmir Short Film Festival in Turkey.
Azerbaijani actress Konul Nagiyeva played the leading role at the film "Learning how to swim" that depicts the plight of Syrian refugees fleeing to Greece across the Aegean sea.
"The events in our world which influence on humanity have to be shown at cinema, and I consider the actor’s duty to find solutions to the current problems in his profession. Being an actress, I couldn't remain indifferent to the events developing in the world and around me. Also I couldn't remain indifferent to the drama in Syria where the war continues already for six years. I am very glad that I have received a role in the movie by film director Serpil Altin "Learning how to swim", Konul Nagiyeva said.
Earlier, the actress was awarded at the same festival of short films “Pitching Platform”.
