Azerbaijani delegation attends international event on anticorruption in Vienna
Baku, December 3 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov has attended the International Anti-Corruption Academy`s (IACA) first Assembly of Parties in Vienna.
Garalov made a speech at the event to highlight Azerbaijan`s achievements in combating corruption.
He also spoke of Azerbaijan`s cooperation with IACA.
The event adopted a number of decisive documents, as well as elected the new Board of Governors. "The Assembly of Parties without a doubt was a milestone for this young, successful international organization," said Martin Kreutner, IACA`s Chair and Executive Secretary.
Originally an initiative by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Republic of Austria, and many other major international stakeholders, IACA comprised a constituency of 61 Parties and Signatories from all around the world.
Several countries have been represented by Deputy Heads of State, Ministers, Prosecutor Generals, Heads of Anti-Corruption Authorities, and high-level diplomats.
