Azerbaijani Diaspora representatives meet in Frankfurt
Baku, March 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Diaspora representatives met in Frankfurt on March 8.
It was organized with the support of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs and the European Azerbaijanis Congress and discussed the topic “Azerbaijani Diaspora in Europe: conditions of the new period and upcoming tasks”.
The session participants discussed information of the European community about Azerbaijani realities, contacts with members of parliaments and governments, protection of rights and liberties of our countrymen, working with media and other directions and also made numerous proposals.
The meeting also discussed the beating of representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the National Assembly of France.
An appeal to the National Assembly of this European country was passed after discussions.
The appeal says that expressing one`s opinion about history, any fact, discussing, expressing thoughts are among the basic fundamental human and citizens` rights.
“Violence that the citizens encountered while expressing thoughts freely and based on the historical facts is unacceptable in such a democratic society and should not remain unpunished”, the appeal says.
“We do hope that the National Assembly of France will respond adequately to this issue”, the document says.
