AzerTAc, JIJI Press discuss cooperation
Tokyo, December 3 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) and Jiji Press have explored ways of developing cooperation as AZERTAC Director General Aslan Aslanov met the Japanese news agency`s Managing Editor Isao Adachi in Tokyo.
Mr. Aslanov spoke of AZERTAC`s history, as well as international relations of the country`s official news agency, which was founded in 1920.
He stressed the importance of building cooperation between AZERTAC and JIJI Press, adding “this will have a positive impact on the activities of both agencies”. Mr. Aslanov said AZERTAC was interested in benefiting from the experience of Jiji Press in applying advanced technologies, and producing multimedia and video news.
The Director General said AZERTAC attached great importance to using the opportunities of Jiji Press in increasing the world community`s awareness of the Azerbaijani truths and promoting the country`s achievements.
Mr. Adachi underlined the importance of AZERTAC-Jiji Press cooperation. He said Jiji Press placed a particular emphasis on its cooperation with AZERTAC, particularly the exchange of news.
He noted the Japanese agency had been “keeping a watchful eye on the activities of AZERTAC, a national news agency of rapidly developing Azerbaijan in recent years”.
They discussed articles of a draft cooperation agreement between AZERTAC and Jiji Press. The two agencies agreed to review the draft agreement taking into account new proposals.
They said building relations between AZERTAC and Jiji Press would contribute to developing the Azerbaijan-Japan informational cooperation.
