Baku High Oil School, Norwegian universities expand cooperation
Baku, May 24 (AZERTAC). A delegation headed by the rector of the Baku High Oil School Elmar Gasimov visited the University of Stavanger and the University of Science and Technology in Trondheim in Norway.
The visit organized by the Statoil-Azerbaijan Company was aimed at building the business relations between the Baku Oil School and the Norwegian universities.
During the visit, the delegation of Baku Oil School viewed the work of control center for mining in the office of Statoil Company and was informed of the company’s work with universities. The delegation then visited the University of Stavanger, where they got acquainted with oil technology research center and laboratories, and viewed cementation, oil and gas drilling, fracturing technology.
As a result of negotiations with the dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Stavanger University Dr. Ole Ringdal, the universities signed a memorandum of cooperation under which teachers of the Baku High Oil School will train in the Stavanger University, have joint training of masters. The Stavanger University professors will give lectures to students of the Baku School, participate in the preparation of bachelors, and organize joint conferences and seminars.
The delegation also visited the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, got acquainted with the organization of the educational process at the department on training of engineers, the work of research and teaching laboratories. The sides have inked a memorandum of cooperation, envisioning the implementation of joint programs for training of masters, training of the Baku School teachers at the Norwegian University, and joint researches.
