British Council organizes event management training in Baku

The British Council in collaboration with ASAN Radio and YARAT Contemporary Art Space will organize a three-day event management training within the Selector PRO project, bringing together leading music theoreticians and practitioners from the UK and Azerbaijan during 31 January and 2 February at YARAT.
This three-day series of masterclasses will give a professional insight into the spectrum of event management, including event design and planning, audiences, marketing, promotion, people in live music, project management, health and safety, law and technology. The intensive training will be delivered by the British Event Producer and Educator Dan Tsu (BIMM London/Lyrix Organix).
In addition to the three-day training, the British Council will organize a Selector DJ party on 2 February at 22:00, in Enerji Club with the participation of leading British DJ Goldierocks (Samantha Louise Hall), and Sub: System- (Lyrix Organix) - (Dan Tsu) and Azerbaijani DJs.
British Council Director Elizabeth White said: “I’m looking forward so much to this event management training with Dan - and to the DJ party with Goldierocks - two brilliant UK music business professionals. Last year we held a Music Forum, again with Yarat under the Selector programme for over 200 music professionals - this training follows up on that, as part of a long-term programme. And I’m very glad to announce that this year too we will be broadcasting The Selector across the country on Asan Radio.”
Selector PRO aims to provide both professionals and the general public with the fullest insight into music trends in contemporary society as well as the specifics of the British music industry. The event has evolved out of the Selector music programme, produced by the British Council, which includes a radio show and a series of Selector Live parties, which will bring the best new music from UK to Azerbaijani audience.
Produced by the British Council, The Selector is a weekly broadcast from London to an audience of over three million radio listeners in more than 40 countries. The show features artists' interviews and comments, live, and studio sessions from London, and is broadcast here twice a week (Saturday at 21:00 and Sunday at 16:00) by DJ Bazaur on ASAN radio 100FM and online (asanradio.az).
Entrance to both event management training and to the Selector Live DJ party is free of charge.
