CIS HEADS OF STATE COUNCIL`S MEETING HELD IN BISHKEK
Regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, October 10.
Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation led by Premier Artur Rasizade.
After the opening remarks of the Kyrgyz President K. Bakiyev, who greeted the delegates, the CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev reported.
The agenda of the CIS Council of heads includes 19 draft documents. One of important issues of the agenda will be a draft on CIS economic development strategy for period by 2020 and it was designated to assist participant-countries in harmonious development of economic life, stable growth of economy, employment, full use of production capacity and improvement of living conditions of people throughout the Commonwealth.
The heads of state have adopted a document to determine the power engineering as a key sphere of the Commonwealth countries interaction in 2009, cooperation in counteraction of illegal migration in 2009-2011 and announcement 2009 as the Youth Year.
From January 2009 the presidency at the Council passes to Moldova, so the next meeting of CIS Council of Heads of State will be held in Kishinev.
The same day, Azerbaijani delegation returned home.
