CITY DAY MARKED IN SUMGAIT

On October 12, Sumgait people marked City Day-2003 in the Maritime Park of Culture after Nasimi in front of the Nasimi monument. The city turns 54. 34 of them are directly connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev. During this period, large enterprises have been constructed here.

Head of the Sumgait Executive Power Vagif Aliyev noted that this event concured with the eve of Presidential Elections and visit of Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

V. Aliyev spoke of positive changes in Sumgait. He expressed confidence that on October 15 Sumgait people would vote for succession of Heydar Aliyev’s course.

Mayor of Sumgait Vagif Aliyev said that main heroes of the holiday are city veterans and ordinary workers.

The event was followed by a concert performed by masters of Arts of Azerbaijan.
