FIELD RESEARCH WORKS AT MONUMENT GAMIGAYA
At a special assignment of the President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, expedition of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences holds field research works at the monument Gamigaya in Nakhchivan.
The chief of the archeological expedition Nakhchivan-Gamigaya, candidate of historical sciences Najaf Museibeili announced that during research works at this monument related to end-1st-early 1st century A.D. and situated in difficult geographical position, they found season sites of ancient families, about 1500 on-rock pictures, a great number of material and cultural specimens, and loam and stone dishes and arrow-heads among them. It was stated that on-rock pictures of this monument correspond to on-rock pictures in Gobustan, he said.
