FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN VISITS MOSCOW

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov staying in Moscow for a three-day business visit met on 17 August with Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma Konstantin Kosachev.

The meeting was focused on bilateral trade and economic and political cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia including subjects of the Federation.

Touching upon the problem of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mr. Kosachev stated that Russia supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and is very interested in resolution of this conflict. He noted that Russia would back any agreement if reached by the sides.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Committee Chairman Konstantin Kosachev also exchanged views on the important regional and international issues. They stressed the necessity to intensify join efforts in fight terror, narcotics trafficking and illegal migration.

Present at the meeting were Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Ramiz Rizayev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov.
