Graham King to produce Michael Jackson biopic

It has been announced that a biopic of pop legend Michael Jackson is currently in the works. Producer Graham King, who bankrolled the global smash hit Bohemian Rhapsody, the Freddy Mercury biopic, will be producing the new biopic as well, according to Cinema Express.
Reports suggest that Lionsgate will be distributing the film worldwide. Moreover, Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan, best known for Gladiator, Skyfall and Spectre, will be penning the script. Logan has collaboration with King on the 2004 Martin Scorsese picture, The Aviator.
According to reports, the film is tentatively titled Michael and is being produced with the cooperation of the Michael Jackson estate. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake said in a statement, "I am very excited that Lionsgate will be part of this epic film, and thrilled to be working with Graham, who has proven success in telling iconic life stories, from Bohemian Rhapsody to Ali; when combined with John, we couldn't be in more extraordinary hands."
Michael Jackson's life has inspired several documentaries over the years, including Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story, Leaving Neverland, Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon, and Michael Jackson: The Last Photo Shoot, to name a few.
The film is yet to get a release date.
