Grandson of U.S. ex-President visits Azerbaijan University of Languages
Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), MP, Professor Samad Seyidov has today met George Prescott, grandson of the former American president George Bush. George Prescott is visiting Azerbaijan to attend the panel meeting on ‘Leaders of Future’ to be organized by the World Azerbaijani Youth Union (WAYU) under the South Caucasus Forum.
The AUL rector provided an insight into the activities of the University, as well as its future plans.
Seyidov also briefed George Prescott on the American Center functioning under the University.
He also noted that the American Center’s mission is to educate the Azerbaijani public about the United States of America, its history, culture, economy, foreign and domestic policies, and increase mutual understanding between the United States of America and Azerbaijan.
The University’s American Center consists of a free library which at the same time serves as a venue for press conferences, conversation courses, presentations, exhibitions, education dairs, lectures, scientific seminars, round table discussions, movie screenings, web forums and receptions.
George Prescott Bush expressed pleasure to be in Azerbaijan, and to visit the University of Languages.
He praised relations between AUL and U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, expressing hope that the ties will further widen.
