‘HEYDAR ALIYEV AND AZERBAIJAN CINEMA’ ON AZTV
During his conversation with AZERTAC correspondent, the program’s maker told that President Heydar Aliyev ‘patronized’ the Azerbaijan cinema as far back as he was the officer of the State Security bodies. ‘Our President, he said, ‘had played then a great role in the rehabilitation of Mehti Huseynzadeh, as well as in the publication of the book ‘On Distant Shores’ by Hasan Seyidbayli and Imran Gasimov, and shooting a film on of the same name in 1958. In 1966, according to Aydin Kazimov, Heydar Aliyev helped the creative group of cinematographers in shooting the feature film ‘Investigation is Going On’ about foreign spy disclosure in Baku.
