Kiev hosts 3rd Forum of Azerbaijani Diaspora
Baku, May 23 (AZERTAC). The United Diaspora of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis has held the 3rd Forum of Azerbaijani Diaspora of Ukraine in Kiev.
Called “Modern Ukraine: the role of the Azerbaijani diaspora in state development”, the forum was attended by Embassy employees, prominent public and political figures of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, heads and representatives of regional organizations of the United Diaspora of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis, and businessmen.
The event was opened by chairman of the All-Ukrainian United Diaspora Hikmat Javadov, who highlighted problems and development prospects of diaspora.
Azerbaijani ambassador Eynulla Madatli stressed the importance of the event. He commended President Ilham Aliyev`s attention to and support of Azerbaijanis living abroad.
The forum featured a presentation of Diaspora TV channel and a textbook published by the All-Ukrainian United Diaspora.
The event also saw discussions on the Ukrainian presidential and Mayor of Kiev elections that will be held on May 25.
