MILLI MAJLIS CHAIRMAN MEETS CHAIRMAN OF HUNGARIAN PARLIAMENT`s EUROPEAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Baku, May 19 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Ogtay Asadov today met here with Chairman of the Hungarian Parliament`s European Affairs Committee Matyas Eorsi.
The meeting focused on development of cooperation between the two states.
Mr. Asadov spoke of socio-political, economic situation in the country, stressing Azerbaijan is an initiator and participant of major regional projects. He also added that the country is playing a key role in the European energy security.
The Milli Majlis chairman said Azerbaijan is very interested in cooperation with Hungary, which is one of the active members of the European Union.
Asadov said Hungary can play an important role in fair resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which is the serious problem for Azerbaijan.
He also stressed special role of interparliamentary working group in development of relations between the two states.
Mr. Matyas Eorsi, in turn, said that Hungarian MPs will always support Azerbaijan`s right position within international organizations.
He stressed Hungary is also interested in development of relations with Azerbaijan, noting “these cooperation will be very useful for Europe”.
