MILLI MAJLIS DELEGATION VISIT SLOVENIA
Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament (Milli Majlis) Bahar Muradova and MP Rabiyyat Aslanova visited Slovenia on Tuesday.
During the visit, they met with Mitja Drobnic, Director General of Slovinia`s Foreign Ministry, Miran Potrc, vice-president of the National Assembly (parliament), Ivo Vajgl, head of the parliament`s foreign policy committee, as well as members of Azerbaijan-Slovenia interparliamentary friendship group.
Both Bahar Muradova and Rabiyyat Aslanova told of ongoing processes in their country and international projects which Azerbaijan has joined.
The Slovenian side noted that their country is curious about cooperation with Azerbaijan in economic, cultural, trade and energy spheres.
It was stressed that Slovenia could assist Azerbaijan to expand its relations with NATO and the European Union.
The sides also noted that opening Slovenia`s Embassy in Baku and Azerbaijan`s in Ljubljana could contribute to developing bilateral relationship even more.
The Azerbaijani MPs also briefed the Slovenian officials on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and its grave consequences.
During the meeting in the National Assembly, the talks focused on strengthening ties between the two countries parliaments, organizing reciprocal visits by members of friendship groups, as well as parliament chairs.
They stressed the necessity of cooperation within the OSCE, the Council of Europe and other international organizations.
They also touched upon Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov`s possible visit to Slovenia.
