MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER MEETS EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT`S DELEGATION
Speaker of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis (Parliament) Ogtay Asadov met Monday with visiting delegation of the European Parliament headed by Graham Watson, leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE).
O. Asadov said integration into Euro-Atlantic structures was one of Azerbaijan`s foreign policy priorities. According to him, Azerbaijan attaches significant importance to enhancing relations with international organizations, in particular the European Parliament.
Asadov notified a joint meeting of the Azerbaijan-European Union inter-parliamentary cooperation commission will be held in early October in Brussels, adding such kind of events will promote to deepening bilateral relationships.
Graham Watson, in turn, expressed his gratitude to O. Asadov for reception of the delegation.
He stressed the European Parliament is interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan in all spheres.
The meeting also discussed various aspects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and other issues of mutual interest.
