MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER MEETS LITHUANIAN SEIMAS DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL
Baku, 24 June (AZERTAC). Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli Majlis) Ogtay Asadov met Wednesday with Deputy Secretary General of the Lithuanian Seimas Gedeminas Aleksonis.
Asadov said his country was keen on boosting relations with Lithuania.
He noted Azerbaijani leadership attaches much importance to the country`s integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures.
The Speaker underlined the importance of the fact that Azerbaijan is a participant of the EU-funded Twinning Project.
He added Azerbaijan is interested in deepening relationship with the European Union in various spheres.
Touching upon the inter-parliamentary ties, Asadov said they play great role in expansion of relationship between the two countries.
Gedeminas Aleksonis, in turn, said he was pleased with his visit to Azerbaijan.
According to him, a document on implementation of the Twinning Project signed between the two countries` legislative bodies will contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for development of inter-parliamentary relations.
Lithuanian ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas, head of the Milli Majlis Administration Safa Mirzayev were present in the meeting.
