Orhan Hasanoğlu: Events in Yekaterinburg met with outrage by Azerbaijan’s friends
Ankara, June 30, AZERTAC
“The inhumane acts committed against Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, Russia, represent a racist and fascist attack targeting their national identity. These atrocities have been met with profound anger and concern by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, as well as by friends of Azerbaijan and the broader Turkic world,” said Orhan Hasanoğlu, President of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, in a statement to AZERTAC.
“We view this incident not merely as an isolated act of violence but as a manifestation of the growing anti-Turk and anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric in Russia, coupled with the racist mentality entrenched in state structures. The fact that this violence appears to stem from state sources makes the situation even more alarming. As the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, we declare that remaining silent in the face of such inhumane acts is unacceptable. The Azerbaijani state and people are not alone in confronting this injustice. We unequivocally affirm our solidarity with the Azerbaijani people and state,” he stated.
