OSCE BAKU OFFICE PRAISES MILITARY LEGISLATION REFORMS IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, February 12 (AZERTAC). OSCE Baku Office hails military legislation reforms. The Office will continue cooperation with Azerbaijan to improve military laws, MacGregor, Politico-Military Officer at the OSCE Baku Office said in a meeting with 1st Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis, chairman of the standing commission on security and defense.
Ziyafet Asgarov noted Milli Majlis intensified ties with the OSCE Baku office. Last year, OSCE and Milli Majlis held a number of events to strengthen democratic control of the Armed Forces. Asgarov stressed the need to continue cooperation.
Asgarov pointed out that the parliament of Azerbaijan dramatically improved the legislation in the field of security and defense. Asgarov briefed Macgregor on the security conception.
John Macgregor provided information about the OSCE-implemented projects. He praised military reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, the economically strongest nation in the South Caucasus.
Discussions in the meeting also revolved around the global projects, Azerbaijan`s defensive capacity, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
