PARLIAMENT SPEAKER MEETS YEMEN`S NEW AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN
Baku, 7 February (AZERTAC). Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov has met with Yemen`s newly appointed ambassador to the country Jamal Abdullah al-Jalal.
The Speaker congratulated the Ambassador on his new mission and expressed confidence would make his contribution to further developing Azerbaijan-Yemen relations.
Asadov said the two countries closely cooperate within international organizations, including the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the United Nations.
The Speaker also touched upon interparliamentry ties, which, he said plays the important role in deepening bilateral relations. He stressed the importance of establishing friendship groups in both parliaments.
Ambassador Jamal Abdullah al-Jalal expressed assurance that during his tenure Azerbaijan-Yemen relations will further develop.
The Yemeni diplomat said his country attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan.
Within UN and OIC, Yemen supports Azerbaijan`s fair position on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia, the ambassador underscored.
