PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ATTENDS CEREMONY OF RESUMING GAS SUPPLY TO HORADIZ
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended Saturday the ceremony of resuming natural gas supply to the town of Horadiz.
The Head of State first got acquainted with the gas supply map of Agdam, Agjabedi, Beylagan and Fuzuli regions, including the town of Horadiz.
Chairman of the Azerigas join-company Alikhan Melikov said the first stage of the project envisages construction of 69-km long gas pipeline. The length of the gas distribution line in Horadiz will be 8600 meters. To date, 6 thousand meters-long gas pipeline has been laid.
1,374,468 people (83.6% of population) received gas in Azerbaijan in 2008. This number is scheduled to reach 1,484,622 by 2013. 1,105,715 gas meters have so far been installed.
The President lit the torch symbolizing resumption of natural gas supply to the town of Horadiz.
Afterwards, the Head of State and his spouse met with Horadiz residents who praised ongoing economic reforms and work to improve the living of people.
