PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV MEETS WITH MINISTER OF TOURISM OF GREECE
During the sincere conversation, the Azerbaijan President mentioned that the XXVIII Olympic Games in Athens had been very well organized, and pointed out the fruitful role of the Greek government in this important work.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of development of economic links between the two countries. Touching, in particular, on the Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Greece as a country of great tourist possibilities, he expressed hope that Azerbaijan would shortly turn to one of the world’s most developed tourist countries, as well.
Minister of Tourism of Greece Dimitris Avramopoulos for his part highly valued the significance the Azerbaijani government attaches to development of sport and tourism in the country. He especially emphasized the interest the World Tourist Organization had been showing lately in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev invited the Greek Minister of Tourism Mr. Avramopoulos to visit Azerbaijan. The invitation was accepted with a great pleasure.
Present at the meeting were Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev and Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Athens Mirhamza Efendiyev.
