President of Mauritius visits Icherisheher

Dharambeer Gokhool, President of the Republic of Mauritius, who is participating in the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, has visited Icherisheher.
During a familiarization tour conducted in accompany with Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of the “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, the distinguished guest visited key historical and architectural landmarks, including the Maiden Tower, the Shirvanshahs’ Palace Complex, the Bukhara Caravanserai, and other sites.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the Old City’s status as a global cultural heritage site, ongoing efforts to protect ancient monuments, and the engagement of the local community and artisans in these efforts.
