PRESIDENTIAL POLL FREE AND DEMOCRATIC, ELECTION-2008 NGO COALITION
Presidential elections in Azerbaijan were free and democratic, according to local Election-2008 NGO Coalition whose observers monitored the election in 1,457 polling stations across the country
Speaking at Thursday`s press conference, Vahid Gazi, the coalition`s coordinator, praised measures the country`s electoral authorities took to ensure free monitoring of the poll by local and international observers.
He stressed the fact the Central Election Commission installed webcams in 500 polling stations and equipped all precincts with indelible ink and fingerprint checking devices.
Gazi also mentioned high turnout in Wednesday`s voting.
