Gennady Mitrofanov was born in 1940 in the village of Port Ilyicha in Azerbaijan. He lost his hearing at the age of two due to a cold. For more than 50 years, the actor has worked in the Moscow Theater of Mimicry and Gesture. In 1994, the actor was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
