Second conference of OIC Labor Ministers ends in Baku
Baku, 26 April (AZERTAC). The second conference of Labor Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries ended today in Baku.
The event, organized by Azerbaijan`s Labor and Social Protection Ministry brought together labor ministers from more than 50 Islamic countries.
The conference aimed at promoting cooperation between OIC member countries in the labor and social security fields, exchanging idea and innovations.
During his final speech, chairman of the 2nd conference, Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection Fizuli Alakbarov expressed satisfaction with establishment of specialized institution of the OIC to fulfill the coordination work on long-term cooperation priorities on the issues of labor and employment between the OIC member states which will operate in Azerbaijan.
The minister has also touched upon the problems in the fields of labor and employment in Islamic countries.
Alakbarov stressed the need for exchange of experts in order to establish trade education according to labor market, provide safe and healthy labor condition and preparation and implementation of useful programs to improve trade skills.
He said the “Baku Framework Agreement”, resolution on cooperation in the fields of labor, employment and social protection and Baku Declaration, adopted during the conference cover concrete work fields.
References, proposals, interests and needs of the member countries have been carefully studied during the preparation of draft documents.
The declaration stresses the necessity of unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
