Baku, May 25 (AZERTAC). A classical music concert devoted to the 200th anniversary of Chopin was held in Sheki province of Azerbaijan. The event gathered classical music-lovers, employees of the Polish Embassy to Azerbaijan, representatives of the Composer`s Union and the head of the Sheki province executive power.

The event participants spoke about the life and creative work of the famous Polish composer. The concert also featured famous compositions by the Frederic Chopin.

The employees of Polish Embassy in Baku expressed their gratitude to the head of Sheki province for celebrating the Chopin`s jubilee.

Polish Parliament unanimously voted for making the year 2010 - a Year of Frederic Chopin. 2010 marks the 200th birthday of this extraordinary composer and pianist. The music of Frederic Chopin is to this day one of the most recognized Polish cultural assets and is performed around the world constantly.
