Berlin, May 6, AZERTAC

“We are delighted with the unveiling of the plaque dedicated to the memory of Azerbaijani victims at the Buchenwald Memorial Complex. We express our deep gratitude to the Azerbaijani Embassy for this initiative,” Philipp Neumann-Thein, Deputy Director of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation, told journalists.

“This plaque was installed in the crematorium, where the victims of the Buchenwald concentration camp, as well as individual prisoners, are commemorated. It is a very important contribution to preserving the memory of victims from Azerbaijan at the Buchenwald Memorial Complex. Undoubtedly, the 500,000 people who visit the Buchenwald Memorial Complex every year will see this plaque and help pass this memory on to future generations,” Philipp Neumann-Thein said.
