U.S. State Department official: US supports TANAP project

Baku, November 17 (AZERTAC). “The United States supports the implementation of the TANAP project”, US State Department Special Envoy for Energy Carlos Pascual said in his speech at the Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit in Istanbul.

“Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s role in the European energy security is indispensable. Gas pipelines, passing through Turkey, especially Trans-Anatolian pipeline (TANAP) project, are a unique chance for provision of European energy security. The TANAP project envisages construction of the gas pipeline from the eastern border of Turkey to the western border which will supply gas from the Azerbaijani field Shah Deniz to Europe” he added.
