“WOMEN FOR PEACE” EXHIBITION LAUNCHED

An exhibition of pictures entitled “Women for Peace” was arranged in the Shirvanshahs’ Palace within the UNIFEM’s regional project “Women in conflict preventing and peacemaking process in the South Caucasus”.

The exhibition dedicated to the third anniversary of adoption of UN Security Council’s resolution “Women, peace and security” demonstrates pictures of young painters.

At the opening ceremony, the national coordinator of UNIFEM project for Azerbaijan Gulshan Pashayeva told of significance of this resolution.

Deputy chairman of the State Committee for Women issues Mominat Omarova, head of Department of the Main Directorate of Human Rights of the Council of Europe Danielle Levi-Pues and others stressed the significance of actions implemented within the frames of cooperation CE, UNIFEM and State Committee for Women issues.
