45TH MUNICH CONFERENCE ON SECURITY POLICY STARTS

Baku, February 6 (AZERTAC). The 45th Munich Conference on Security Policy started today in Germany. The event brings together more than 300 representatives as well as 70 officials from over 50 countries.

A delegation led by Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov represents Azerbaijan at the event.

The conferees will discuss global financial crisis, international security, NATO expansion to the East, situation in the South Caucasus, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Russia-Ukraine gas dispute, Europe`s energy security and other issues.

The conference is an opportunity for Azerbaijan to draw once again the world`s attention to the fact that 20 percent of the country`s territories were occupied by Armenia.

The Azerbaijani delegation is also expected to participate in debates on ensuring Europe`s energy security.
