AGGRESSIVE POLICY OF ARMENIA ON AGENDA AT OSCE SUMMER SESSION
Baku, 25 June (AZERTAC). The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, is hosting the 18th session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly from June 29 through July 3. The focus is on food safety and global economic crisis. OSCE PA President Joao Soares and Luis Maria de Puch, Chairman of the PACE, will make reports on the issue.
On the agenda there is also a problem of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Eldar Ibrahimov, member of the Azerbaijan delegation to OSCE Parliamentary Assembly said.
Also as part of the “Security in OSCE area” issue, the delegates will discuss the environmental damage, made by Armenia at the occupied territories of Azerbaijan Republic.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was established in 1991 in an attempt to strengthen the influence of parliaments on the OSCE co-operation. The Assembly convenes twice a year. The Assembly works through three general committees discussing political affairs and security issues, economic affairs, science, technology and environment, and finally democracy, human rights and humanitarian questions. At the end of the summer session, a common declaration based on current issues containing elements of the work of the three committees is to be adopted.
