ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History demonstrates exhibition of weapons

Baku, December 24 (AZERTAC). An exhibition “The sword plunged into the ground” which demonstrates Azerbaijani, Oriental and European weapons gets underway in ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History.

At the end of 18th - early 19th century, one of the most common areas of metal processing has been Azerbaijan arms production.

The exhibition will feature more than 100 weapons recovered in various periods of archaeological excavations, as well as ones being acquired and presented.

The weapons are the historical sources proving national and spiritual values and historical roots like material and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan.

Museum collection of weapons, along with a demonstration of the social and political events, as well as cultural and military history of a particular historical epoch, also shows the development of the national applied art, highly professional master of weapons and their artistic and aesthetic taste.

The exhibition will run till January 15, 2013.
