Astara region holds seminar within “Kids Athletics Azerbaijan” project
Astara, February 19 (AZERTAC). A seminar for athletes has been held in Astara region within the “Kids Athletics Azerbaijan” project.
Supported by the National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sport, International Association of Athletics Federations and Athletics Federation of Azerbaijan, the seminar aimed to develop and promote athletics in the country, engage as many children as possible in sports and to ensure healthy lifestyle of youth and teenagers.
Taking into account the success gained by the youth of Astara, the first training courses was held in this region.
Classes, attending by children from 5and 6 classes, were mainly focused on developing general physical performances, fitness and coordination skills, introducing the kid`s athletics activities into established community and school events, as well as providing to children a lot of athletic disciplines with playful way and attract them to the track and field.
The courses were conducted by trainers, teachers of the Athletics Federation of Azerbaijan including Jeyhun Huseynov, Aqil Pashayev and assistant lector Fikrat Gafarov.
The seminar had both theoretical and practical courses, which were attended by 20 teachers of physical education and athletic trainers.
In a one day mini games sports event, a total of 36 children worked together in teams of 6 to carry out various athletic activities.
At the end of the event, teachers of physical education and pupil-athletes were presented with certificates.
Kid`s Athletics is organized for children in many countries. The Program intends to bring excitement and fun into the basic principles of Run Jump Throw for kids aged 7-12 years.
