Azerbaijan becomes honorary member of International Community of Academies

President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Isa Habibbayli, addressed the Inaugural Symposium of the International Community (Koinon) of Academies in the Greek capital, Athens.
The plenary session featured presentations on topics including artificial intelligence, human health and intelligence, collective and economic perspectives in artificial intelligence, innovation and competitiveness, the development and future of the European economy, digital archaeology, the human factor, climate change in the Anthropogenic Era, and the resilience of cultural heritage in the Mediterranean basin.
During the conference, Christos Zerefos, Secretary General of the Academy of Athens, was elected President of the Board of the International Community of Academies.
The session elected full and honorary members of the International Community of Academies and identified new candidates, with participation from Academies representing 41 countries. The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was included among the honorary members of the International Community of Academies.
As part of his visit, ANAS President Isa Habibbayli met with Muzaffer Şeker, President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), to discuss mutual cooperation and upcoming events related to the centenary of the First Turkological Congress. Isa Habibbayli also met with Heinz Faßmann, President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and Vanda Lamm, Vice-President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Participants of the Inaugural Symposium of the International Community of Academies visited and familiarized themselves with Greece's ancient historical monuments and classical cultural heritage.
