Azerbaijan-Belarus relations successfully developing, Belarus ambassador
Baku, November 21 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan-Belarus relations at the level of parliaments, agencies and regions are successfully developing, Belarus`s ambassador Nikolay Patskevich said at the press conference "Belarus-Azerbaijan bilateral cooperation: results of 2012 and development prospects in 2013".
According to the ambassador, this can be proved by the visit of the Belarus delegation led by Semashko, Deputy Prime Minister, Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission, to Azerbaijan earlier this year as part of the seventh meeting of the Azerbaijan-Belarus intergovernmental commission. The observation of the parliamentary elections in Belarus by eight Azerbaijani MPs is the evidence of development of interparliamentary ties. He underscored the success of reciprocal visits between the two countries` officials.
Patskevich pointed out that business people from both countries attended exhibitions in Baku and Minsk. Five exhibitions in Baku saw participation of some 20 companies from Belarus. Azerbaijani organizations, for their part, participated in the BelAgro-2012 agriculture exhibition, TIBO-2012 telecom exhibition and book fair.
A town twinning agreement was signed between Azerbaijan`s Mingachevir and Belarus`s Polotsk, the ambassador added.
