‘Azerbaijan is a rapidly developing country in the region’
Baku, November 27 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan is a rapidly developing country in the region, Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek said Monday at a meeting with Speaker of Azerbaijan National Assembly Ogtay Asadov.
Cicek underscored the role of legislative bodies of the two countries in boosting bilateral relationship. “Our parliamentarians have close cooperation within international organizations, as well.”
The Turkish Speaker pointed out his country would not establish relations with Armenia unless Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity is restored.
Cemil Cicek stressed the importance of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, adding the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline would play significant role in ensuring the whole Europe`s energy security. According to Cicek, through this project both Azerbaijan and Turkey will play important role in Europe`s energy market.
Ogtay Asadov, in turn, said Turkey`s increasing economic power and the leading role of the country in the world policy “make us very happy.”
Asadov said 175 documents were signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey. “To achieve the goals envisaged in these documents shows the strength of our friendship.” Asadov pointed out Azerbaijan`s development had created opportunities for the country to put billion-dollar investments in Turkey`s economy.
