Azerbaijan, OSCE discuss prison monitoring results
Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and the OSCE have discussed the results of a monitoring held by the organization`s Baku Office in the country`s prisons.
The report was discussed at a meeting between Azerbaijan`s deputy minister of justice, chief of the Penitentiary Service Madat Guliyev and former Rule of Law Programme Manager at the OSCE Office in Baku Monica Martinez and her successor Giovanni Galzinyato.
Guliyev said the Penitentiary Service officials ensured all conditions that the OSCE Baku Office operated normally in jails and prisons.

Guliyev hailed cooperation between the Service and the OSCE Baku Office as close.
He said the monitoring, which was conducted by the OSCE Baku Office in 21 jails across Azerbaijan from July 2011 to March 2013, plays a positive role in increasing efficiency of the Service`s work.
The deputy minister noted that the Penitentiary Service focused on attracting imprisoned persons in social labor. “This year we involved 1,000 prisoners in social labor. We plan to move this work forward.
