AZERBAIJAN SPEAKER MEETS ESTONIAN AMBASSADOR

Baku. 7 February (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov has met newly appointed Estonian Ambassador to the country Aivo Orav. Asadov said the two countries are bound together by ties of friendship and cooperation. He pointed out there are great prospects to develop bilateral economic relations, and recalled a recent meeting of Azerbaijani and Estonian businessmen in Baku, describing it as a success. The Speaker said the two countries enjoy a high level of interparliamentary cooperation, which, according to him, plays a key role in overall development of bilateral relations.

Ogtay Asadov also touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, and thanked the Estonian government for supporting “Azerbaijan`s just cause”.

Ambassador Aivo Orav vowed to spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan-Estonia relations. He recalled the Estonian leader`s trip to Baku, saying it marked a new page in the two countries` relationship.

Orav expressed confidence Estonia-Azerbaijan relations will further deepen.
