Azerbaijan, Sudan to hold joint ICT forum next year

Baku, November 24 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Sudan have agreed to organize a first joint forum on cooperation in the information and communication technologies as the two countries` ICT ministers met in Baku.

Azerbaijani Minister Ali Abbasov and his Sudanese counterpart Eissa Bashari Mohamed Hamid reached agreement to hold the event in the first half of 2013.

They discussed the bilateral cooperation in the communication and information technologies sector.

Abbasov briefed the Sudanese Minister on large-scaled ICT projects carried out in Azerbaijan.

Mohamed Hamid said Sudanese companies were interested in participating in projects in Azerbaijan.

“Sudan wants to learn Azerbaijan's experience in creating e-government,” the Minister noted.

Mohamed Hamid also expressed Sudan`s readiness to attract Azerbaijani companies in the process of privatization of the ICT sector.
